Piano Lessons
Music, first and foremost, is a gift that I wish for everyone to experience. Among many things, it lends itself to be your dearest friend, your greatest challenge, your therapist, your escape and your accomplishment. As a teacher, it would be my greatest fulfillment to give you the experience of music and its various characteristics. Music, to me, portrays the ultimate means of versatility and to be versatile is one of the best gifts you can give yourself.
My background with piano has been of the classical and contemporary styles. My studies began in Orange County and continued on at Whitworth College where I earned a B.A. in Fine Art's Administration. Since graduation, I have been teaching primarily wonderful young people with and interested adult thrown into the mix here and there. I enjoy teaching and find the most fulfillment in it compared to other careers I have been involved with.
My goals for my students:
· Learning to read music
· Basic music theory
· Development of effective practice habits
· To appreciate all kinds of music
· To have a positive experience at the piano
Benefits of studying piano with Tiana:
· Student Recitals ~ Held in the Spring and Fall. This is the time for students to showcase their hard work, listen to others play, and for parents to be proud and excited for their children.
· Education Recitals ~ Offered to students and their families. I wanted to give my students a chance to hear me play and also give a presentation on a topic of music whether that be effective practicing, the connection between visual art and music, composers such as Beethoven or Bach, etc. These recitals are designed to be interesting, interactive and an inspiration for those who attend.
